Taking the best of all our favorite pedagogy models, our learning pod incorporates the holistic “whole child” education and inspiration of the daily rhythms of Waldorf, nature immersion elements of Forest schools, the student-centered and child-led learning ideals of Reggio Emilia, and the hands-on real-world skill building emphasis of Montessori.
In our highly academic enriching environment, students will be challenged and encouraged to progress to the maximum potential of their individual strengths, rather than restricted to an inflexible curriculum. Our focus is on the 5-7 age range, K-2nd grade.
Connecting with students and supporting them emotionally, encouraging creative discoveries and guiding towards success, our experienced tutors will take a journey of curiosity alongside your children and explore the world together.
A learning pod is essentially a tiny highly customized tutoring opportunity. Our learning pod will consist of no more than 6 children for a fantastic student-teacher ratio, which will allow for highly tailored learning. Each child will be able to take advantage of 1:1 instruction due to our ratio and longer class times. Every aspect of our pod will be tailored to our specific group of children. Our highly educated tutors have decades of experience. Although we have a schedule, we will stay moderately flexible to accommodate the general daily needs of the pod.
Science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. STEAM is often considered by pedagogy experts to be more inclusive and more effective than STEM, because it allows children who are naturally more gifted in creative subjects to feel valued, and to let their talents flourish. We believe that developing skills in the arts is essential for a well rounded education!
Our greatest emphasis is on FUN! We believe children should love learning and feel excited to participate in our pod. Children will be encouraged to discuss, ask questions, request to research further, and bring their own ideas to explore. Our loving tutors will be fully invested in our pod and children, bringing out the best in them every day and creating a beautiful and safe space for exploring education and the children’s individual interests.
A variety of classroom options encourage children to be comfortable and pursue knowledge and creative skills. Our indoor classroom will have comfortable seating like floor cushions, in addition to individual desks. Two outdoor classrooms (porch and woods) will also have a variety of options. Art will be done in an outdoor space so children can just focus on having fun as messily as they desire!

Our Arabic tutor will be a native speaking Egyptian professional.
Schedule is still developing and subject to change. Early drop off and late pickup will possibly be available for additional cost, as well as carpooling to additional afternoon activities (gymnastics, taekwondo, jiu jitsu, dance). We will most likely follow the Cherokee County school calendar modified for Islamic holidays off.
Immersion: During and after the drop off window, children will play outside or with our Montessori inspired collection, to orient and adjust beginning the school day without immediate pressure or tasks. Circle: Gathering together and creating appreciation for our little social community, welcoming each other, sharing a quick story, demonstrating emotional support and being present for each other. Followed by a quick yoga session to promote peace, focus, and unity.
Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, telling time, money, measuring, and so much more. Learning through songs, hands on activities, group projects, tech, and fun worksheets. Children will use math skills to create and build projects, incorporating age appropriate engineering and physics discussions.
Each student learns at their own pace from our highly qualified Wilson certified instructor Jennifer, through the multi-sensory structured language program. Fundations systematically and comprehensively instructs students in phonemic awareness and word study (both phonetic and high frequency/sight words) and contributes greatly to fluency, vocabulary development, and the applications of strategies for understanding text.
Learning through stories and songs, practicing memorization together, and encouraging children to tell their own stories through theatrical play. Children will be encouraged to write their own stories at their own pace, through drawings, writing, dictation, or performance. Children will have access to a variety of costumes and props, and will work together to prepare their own individual performances and a group performance at end of semester celebrations.
Children will be encouraged to eat quietly and at their own pace, followed by a quiet rest time. They can nap, draw, or read during rest time. A quiet lunch has been shown to promote focus, mindfulness, and discipline, and can contribute to a more productive and less stressful school environment.
Lots of fun outside and a strong focus on bodily health. Learning fun exercises to build cardio, strength, flexibility, accuracy. Children will learn the basics of jiu jitsu and multiple sports. Some days will be competitive focused, and some days will be collaborative. Sportsmanship will be emphasized, and building a strong and positive team spirit!
Rotating between chemistry and experiments, natural science (weather, animals, space, environments, etc), and human biology. Lots of hands on and outside learning, occasional documentaries as well. We will bring in professionals in a variety of fields for demonstrations and interaction.
Learning about world history, culture, and geography, through appreciation and awareness. Reading stories, recreating food, researching attire, historical events, timelines, and celebrations. A mixture of hands on, tech, student led, and guided learning. Members of the community will come to teach us about their cultures and countries.
Arabic is the 4th first language overall worldwide and there is currently a huge demand for Arabic speakers in many occupations. Our students will learn by alternating between more traditional school work, and creative days of learning through songs, art, and fun. Numbers, letters, conversational phrases. Students will prepare a presentation for end of semester celebrations.
Music, dance: Alternating between dance, piano, singing, and “mini band” for basic music skills. Dance will incorporate some traditional movements but primarily encourage imaginative creativity of expression. We will work on both individual musical projects, and collaborative musical projects. Students will prepare individual musical presentations and a group presentation for the end of semester celebrations. Art: Incorporating student led free art and crafts time, as well as loosely guided artistic exploration. We will explore everything from organic nature art, using recycled items for sculpture, group art projects, traditional drawing techniques, and more.
